brussels
We made it to Burssels this morning. When we got off the train and bus we had no map and no idea where we were going. It was kind of scary. Weve made it to our hotel and civiliwation. We got pitas at this little cafe that were very yummy. then we went to an amazing chocolatier. I wanted to buy some to either bring back or send to the US but it wont last long enough so i just got a small thing for myself. sorry
i have been keeping a paper diary/blog thing that I will type up when I get back home tomorrow.
ok thats all for now. bye bye

The Hold Steady
It's one am and I just got home... from class! We took a trip to Portsmouth today to see a show. I am so tired right now.. I can't really write.. but it was really fun. My professor is the coolest. He played either tambourine or hand claps on one of Oasis's #1 songs. Amazing. I should just write more later. I need to sleep considering I need to leave for the airport in about 5 hours.. and I haven't packed. Oops. Bed time!

I got a cell phone!
I got a cell phone today.Woo. It only costs 5p a minute to call the US, which is awesome. I'm very excited. I wont be using it too much because it's pay as you go, but it makes me feel better. Plus it's kinda cute. It's an older nokia, but yeah. There is a picture below. They have really awesome phones here. There was one that looked like it was just a tiny mp3 player, but then it flipped open into a phone. It was nuts. Getting the phone was pretty easy, so that was nice.
I met these two girls today, Alyx and Kristen. We went to a couple vintage clothing shops and the grocery store. I am not so good at the vintage shopping, but looking was kind of cool. They had really neat army jackets, but they were expensive. Alyx got two really cute shirts. I don't know. I'm not really into that whole thing.
Some homework was completed today. Woohoo! I'm proud of myself. It's really hard to sit down and study because you just want to go out and explore. More to be done tomorrow.
Tonight I went with James and his friend Tracy to get Indian food. It was pretty good, except for the fact that it took two hours! Ugh. That was pretty lame. After that we made our way through Briton and went to a pretty cool pub. There were lots of indie/scene kids there. It was cute. I guess they have bands play there pretty often. I want to go back and see musica. That should be fun.
Now that I'm home, I just want to go to bed. I need to wake up at 8:30 tomorrow so that I can do laundry and pack for Paris. Then I pretty much have class from 1 until forever. I hope I can bring my camera into the show. Then I'll post lots of pictures.
For now, heres one of me and my new tele.

and my disgusting yellow, blue, purple, green bruise from falling down the stairs. Gross.

GRAPES!
Grapes from Egypt rock! I went to Sainsburry this morning with Lauren. The fact that the bus costs 3pounds is really starting to annoy me. It's adding up. I should have gotten a weekly pass for last week, but it's too late now. Anywho, at the store I got some soup with poptops (our can opener here is evil and does not work) and fruit and granola bars. Yummm. I also got some Indian food which I ate for Lunch and dinner. It was the best thing I've had since I've been here. I really wish that I had gotten to eat when I was in London. Oh well... There will be other times. For now I'm just happy that I have some fruit to eat. They package everything so cute over here. The grapes I am eating are in this little carton and it says "one of your five a day". It's adorable.
We watched a terrible movie in class today. It was called "The Smell Of Success." Yeah.. terrible. I hope the movies get better in class because today seemed like a waste of time. But there was one great quote. I wrote it down.. *searches through notebook* "You're selling me fish thats 4 days old. I DON'T BUY IT!" hahaha. That was the highlight of the movie.
I am sooo excited for Wednesday! I have my class from 1-3. Then at 6:30 we are heading to a concert!!! We're seeing The Hold Steady, who is one of the bands my teacher represents. He is don't a darn good job of getting them big here. haha. I was flipping through music mags and I saw like 5 articles on them in 3 magazines. They are also playing at this big festival with a good spot in the lineup. I really hope the show is fun. I think it will be because a lot of my friends are in the class and it's like a huge field-trip. I got new batteries for my camera so I'll be sure to take pictures too. Eee. I'm excited.
Paris is this Thursday too. Woo Hoo. It's going to be a busy week. Tomorrow I need to work on my projects a lot so that I don't have to worry so much over this weekend. I'm excited to eat crepes and amazing chocolate in Brussels. I don't know if I will get a chance to blog while I am there, unless I stop in an internet cafe. We'll see.
As for the being stranded in Ireland thing, I think I figured it out. I'm pretty sure I am just going to stay in Dublin the whole time instead of going down to Cork. That way I can fly out of Dublin into Gatwick at a reasonable time, for not too much money. We'll see.
Everyone is starting to get sick. It scares me. I've been trying to go bed at a decent time and get back on a normal schedule. I also bought these multivitamins but when I opened the package, they were HUGE! There is no way I could swallow them. I have issues with tiny pills, so I've pretty much given up on these ones. I'm hoping that fruit will come to the rescue and protect me. Fruit and sleep- My two favorite things here (other than my umbrella and digital camera.. which are necessities).
Okay. Time to read and sleep! Good Night!
and Happy Birthday to Anthony in 10 minutes!

Happy Canada Day
I miss American tastes. The water and milk here taste really different. I can't tell if my milk is bad or it just tastes different here. It tasted fine when I first got it, so I threw it away today because I thought it tasted different. The water is different also. I don't know. I just want some smart water and good milk. And In n Out.
I woke up late again today. Sleeping in is so awesome. I am using it as my excuse to not get sick. haha. I have had a bit of a runny nose, so I'm heading to bed a little earlier than usual.
I took it easy today. After waking up I wen to the library. I didn't get much done there. So then I came back and went to Lauren's flat. We cooked dinner and did a tiny bit of homework. I still didn't get that much done. I really need to get a lot done tomorrow and this week, before Paris and Brussels. I don't really have that much to do, but I don't want to get behind.
Tomorrow my only plans are going back to the grocery store (to buy SOUP!) and class and homework. Oh, and finding a flight, ferry, or some other mode of transportation to get back from Ireland. We bought our tickets to Ireland today. It was only 10 pounds. We can get a flight back for ONE CENT!!!! But, I have class on Monday morning and that would be cutting it really close. All the flights on Sunday are really expensive or something. We have to keep searching so that we can all find a way home! haha. We'll figure it out.
The book I am reading for my class, Stoned by Andrew Loog Oldham, is really interesting. It's an autobiography on the Rolling Stones manager. My class and the book overlap a lot, which is sort of exciting. I'm enjoying it.
That's all for now. I have another funny picture to leave you with from the Pier the day after I arrived.

Also, I enabled comments.. so leave one. =)
Cheers

lazy saturday
I almost forgot to blog. I am really tired. Sleeping in is wonderful. I plan on doing it again tomorrow.
Today Rachel and I went to Asda. It is part of the walmart family. It wasn't very impressive. I've found that everyone who works at grocery stores here is unhappy. It kind of puts a damper on your experience. I just bought some random stuff that I needed. I was sort of disappointed. We ate lunch at this little Italian restaurant on the Marina. The Marina was really cute. There were lots of boats and apartments around. It reminded me of Italy, even though I have not been to or seen Italy. The pasta we got at the restaurant was really yummy. It took forever for us to get our check though. That was frustrating. After the whole thing, we tried to find our way home because we missed our bus. So we took 3 different busses. While on the 2nd bus, this girl who looked about 9 showed her saver pass to the bus driver, went on the bus, and dropped it out the window so her friend could use it. It was crazy. They looked like they had practiced it. Kids these days.
I didn't do much today, which is why this entry is not so exciting. However, I will leave you with this wonderful picture of me and a high school musical cake! Woohoo!
